Happy Valley Fiddlers' Convention
Enjoy traditional music, dancing and food during the Historic Happy Valley Old-Time Fiddlers' Convention, held on Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4-6. Family-friendly activities begin Friday night with a community dance and informal jam sessions. On Saturday, competitions will be held for players of fiddle, banjo, mandolin and autoharp. Sunday highlights sacred music, recognition of local traditional musicians, and special guests including the Kruger Brothers. The weekend also will include music instruction and clogging workshops, demonstrations by instrument makers, hayrides, kids' activities and food. The Fiddler's Convention will be held on the Jones Farm in Happy Valley. Admission is free on Friday and Sunday; on Saturday admission is $5 in advance and $10 at the gate.
